The new generation of mixologists

The home bar, once a symbol of mid-century sophistication, is making a comeback, but with a modern twist.

The younger generation of mixologists, armed with unbridled confidence and digital solutions at their fingertips, are ready to do it their way.

Gone are the days of the dusty, forgotten drinks cabinet tucked away in the corner of the living room. Today's home bars are sleek, stylish, and designed to be the centerpiece of the room. Similar to the literature in the homeowner's book shelf, a drinks cabinet could be a reflection of one's personality and interests.

The rise of social media platforms has played a role in the resurgence of the home bar as well. These platforms makes it easier than ever to source inspiration and share our creations with others. Young adults are using these platforms to showcase their skills of what is possible in the world of mixology and even for inviting friends to virtual afterworks and cocktail experiences.

But is not just about style and technology. We've also become aware about using high-quality, locally-sourced spirits and ingredients. Today, we rather support local distilleries and producers, in an effort to showcase personal style and interest.

However, it's important to remember that if the idea of a fully stocked drinks cabinet feels over the top, a nice start could be to fill it up with non-alcoholic beverages, tableware, glassware or even as a vanity cabinet to add a more everyday
purpose. A drinks cabinet does not need to be filled with alcoholic beverages, but it is the occasion itself that creates the warm and social experience.

The home bar is back, and it's better than ever.
